Athlete Bio
I grew up in Austin, and have been a part of it's athletic community for about six years. I began running to get fit after having my second child. I ran (well more like "trotted") the Chuy's hot to Trot 5k in 2003 with my sister, and was hooked on running and running races every since! In June of 2007, I decided to do my very first triathlon (Danskin) and ended up placing 6th in my age group. I guess the childhood swim team and gym spin classes were a great foundation for me! Couple that early success with too many running injuries, and my athletic passion turned to triathlon!

I recently began training with T3 triathlon training and my goal is to reach my full potential in all three sports. I'll be competing in my first 70.3 Ironman in Austin in late October, and hope to compete in my first full iron in 2010. My favorite part of triathlon is inspiring others to get fit, have fun being healthy, and be a part of Austin's energetic, supportive, and positive community of athletes.

I balance this passion with being a single mom to Jack (11) and Lucy (6) and my 2 doggies Winston and Baby Girl, and my fantastic job as a District manager for Gap stores in Austin and surrounding areas. I've worked for Gap Inc. for 14 years, and love serving as a "brand ambassador" for them because I believe in Gap's purpose, values, and behaviors. I am so excited and proud to serve as a Brand Ambassador to Red Licorice Events as well for the exact same reasons! I am confident that if you are a part of any of the events, you will feel their passion for providing an amazing race experience... with a twist, and giving to the Austin community.
