Years in triathlon: First Tri 2004

Favorite Race and Why: Treasure Island Olympic. This is a challenging multi loop course that starts in the San Francisco Bay and winds itself around the former Worlds Fair & Military base known as Treasure Island. The water was 59 degrees and they wouldn't let us in until 30 seconds before the wave started. Bike was technical with 26 turns per loop times 6 loops, and the run was pancake flat! It was my first Olympic distance race, my first 10k run PR and my first race with PRO's on the course.

Athlete Bio
I started Triathlon in 2004 as a bet that I would not do it! I had a few good race experiences early on with Sprint Distance Triathlon and podiumed in my age group often. My biggest race was the 2005 Vinman 70.3 but prefer Olympic distance races. In 2007 I qualified for USAT National Championships and enjoyed my first destination race. I have taken the past two years off from racing, but am eager to get back to it with several races on my calendar for 2010 including my triumphant return to Vineman 70.3 in July. It's going to be a fun and challenging year producing races and participating in them while managing being a business owner and single parent!
