Athlete Bio
I began my running obsession in 2000. First starting out in 5k’s and eventually decided that if I could go out and run 10 miles I would commit to a marathon. Since those days I never have looked back…and pretty much spent as much time as I possibly could just running! At the end of 2007 I set out to Boston Qualify at the Vegas Marathon. My body however had different plans. Mile 18…I was done…I could no longer put any pressure on my left leg. Since then I have had to change gears, and so began my journey as a triathlete. All of 2008 I never raced…just spent time on a bike, swimming and pretty much aqua jogging myself into recovery. At the beginning of 2009 I began my race journey as a triathlete. And what an intense and great journey it has been! I am only mid-way through my first season and have actually managed to win my age group in an Olympic distance. I look forward to my first half iron and I have actually done the unthinkable, by registering for the Houston Marathon in 2010. I have gained strength both physically and mentally through the course of a year plagued with injury and I look forward to many more races and my day in Boston!!
