"In spite of difficult terrain, I enjoyed the race Sunday. I really like the way your group puts on a tri. The new bike racks were great and I hope they will eventually replace the old ones everywhere."

Thanks for all your hard work.

"I've run 8 major marathons and this race was 100 times better organized. Thank you! It was a fabulous first triathlon experience!"

"WOW…WOW…WOW… I’m currently sporting my Dude Girl shirt that I won as an age group award! (LOVE IT!) Everything was top notch from the logo, to the course, to the food, mimosas and excellent race swag. Oh my god—cycling jerseys AND a cute girlie race tee?? Wow… Oh—those were also the best “trophies” ever too. I’m happy to be sportin’ that one!! Thanks for a great event. You’ve raised the bar!"

"I must say you know how to put on a great race!! I had a great time and thought the course was a good challenge. I didn't personally use the new bike racking system but I did see them & would like to add my $.02 about them. My thoughts are that they are great! B/c I'm tall, i.e. have a tall bike, I run into problems when the rack bar is too low for my bike to roll under. I've found myself having to lean my bike over to get it under the rack which is problematic when there are many bikes on the same rack and there's no room to do the lean!"

Thanks again for putting on a great race!

"I was part of the T3 team that got to use the new racking system and I loved it!!! It gave more logical space for stuff. It was easier to maneuver in and out. Very nice for a tri rookie like myself and because my bike is tall and I had trouble at Danskin getting my bike out of the rack because of the height and bar sag issue. So, in a nut shell, I loved the new system hope it catches on!!!"

Thanks,

"I loved the team racks! Easy to use, prevented "rack hogs" from taking over. I especially appreciated the post-race festivities, including food, shade and picnic tables!"

"I wanted to let you know that I really liked the new racking system. I thought it kept it very organized and was very easy to get the bike in and out. Thanks so much for letting us try these out. I hope everyone starts to use these!"

"I just wanted to say, GREAT RACE!!!

I really liked the cycling jersey’s. I didn’t know there were two colors until my friend showed me hers in pink. It wasn’t quite her color so we ended up trading and she got my black jersey.

Also I liked the cute T-shirts, water bottles and cold wet towels at the finish. The finishers medal was very cute too as was my age group plaque. (not sure quite how to describe it, but it’s cute). Why I think you achieved your goal of making it the cutest darn tri in Texas.

It ended up being no big deal about the water level. You were able to get the word out and let everyone know to bring extra footwear for after the swim. If there is anything I would change tho…it is the size of the swim bouys. As I get older, my eyes don’t see so good and the bouys were a little on the small side for me. I don’t know if that’s the bouys you were expecting for the race or not. At the Marble Falls Triathlon someone actually stole one of our bouys the day before the race and we had to use an inflatable alligator as a bouy.

I also think that soft serve ice cream should be served at every triathlon. The food and volunteers were wonderful."

To Leilani, Erin, race staff, volunteers, and race participants….

"Keith Rawlings here, Park Supervisor out at Pace Bend Park.  Wow!!!  What a great event you guys put together with your “Sweet and Twisted” Women’s Triathlon back on Aug. 24th!!!  That had to be the best planned, coordinated, and executed event I have had the pleasure of hosting here at the park ever!!!  I’ve worked a number of “large group” athletic events during my five years at Pace Bend and NONE have gone off as smoothly as yours did.  All of your staff and volunteers carried out their responsibilities very well and your vendors were all very “business-like” in the way they approached my staff.  As I’m sure you well know, large events similar to yours can create some tension for the staff of the facility that is hosting the event, but at the end of the day, all of my staff members, as well as the Park Rangers, expressed how well things went that day.  I’ll also say, “GOOD JOB” on the clean up afterward.  There wasn’t a trace left, which made my maintenance staff very happy!!!

I was honored to have your race take place here at Pace Bend.  Events like yours really go a long way to improve the “community image” we want to portray to the public.  We don’t want to just be a place where people come to “party.”  We here with Travis County Parks want to provide clean, well maintained, and safe park facilities for our visitors to “enjoy naturally.”

Thanks again for choosing Pace Bend for your race venue.  I hope you will consider the park again in the future for any events you may be planning.

Take care!!!"

Sweet and twisted events... just like you like them.
